Alexandra Hellquist: A Work of Art [VIDS]
Alexandra is a multi-ethnic mutt who has wandered very far (very far) over land and sea. After living in 6 countries (including Mother England!), Alexandra came to the States and fell in love with acting and a New Yorker, to finally find herself at The Seeing Place. She's beyond excited to make this an acting home and to be a part of this newfound artistic family. Recent theatre roles include Circe in the Exquisite Corpse Company's site-specific "Odd.A.See" (running through August 2013), a long-standing collaboration with RadioTheatre NYC, Jessica in Adam Szymkowicz' "The Why Overhead", and two Fringe NYC festivals. Film roles include Eve in the upcoming Dogme-95 feature "Seed Sprang from the Mourning Son when Father Slew the Fatted Calf", Jolene in the entirely-improvised feature film, "Midnight Delight", the lead in the Fever Dreams web series Shinobi Girl, and numerous festival shorts. Alexandra dabbles in drag, pole-dancing and smoke-ring blowing.

Looking Ahead
Posted onIn rehearsals/pre-production for the role of Eve in Sean Manzione’s feature film, “Seed Sprang from the Mourning Son when Father Slew the Fatted Calf”, shooting in August. This will be my second project with the provocative writer/director, and I’m excited (as well as exhilaratingly nervous), to step off the edge and into the abyss… The script is amongst the best I’ve ever read, and Sean never pulls his punches, so this will be a decidedly vulnerable role, and a glorious challenge. Among other elements, this film will include my first (distinctly not-glossy) on-screen nudity, merkins, body prosthetics, the spawn of satan, and the specter of pedophilia. Also featuring the amazing actors Dan Tracy and Cathy Gale, and the makeup magician Ciara Griffin, all of whom I’m psyched to work with again
