Actress-Model-Amateur Rapper-Ukulele Player and Southern Sweetheart Anna Giles [b:1987] in Scrapper (2013)
Surprisingly entertaining little indie dramedy with tiny dynamo Anna Giles stealing every scene she's in. Her pairing with Michael Beach is something else. Besides her humongous boobies, Anna's also blessed with a distinctive voice - part petulant sounding, part Ellen Page-ish.
I know this may come across as hypocritical on my part but if it's possible and within your means, please download the flick via the proper legal channel (iTunes) once it becomes widely available. While the flick is maybe not to everyone's taste, it's a worthwhile time-filler. Watch it just to catch Michael Beach priceless reactions to Swan's outrageous behavior. Effective supporting cast.

Q: Conversely, how did the lead actress, Anna Giles, come to be a part of your film? I didn’t recognize her but she was fantastic in the part of Swan.
She is a friend of a friend. I do book promotional videos -they’re called book trailers – for publishers for a living, to make my money. I’m always looking for people, friends or whoever, to come in and do voiceovers or play a bit part in a book trailer and throw them a couple of bucks. I needed somebody that sounded like a teenager and who could act well for a voiceover. My friend Gabe recommended Anna and she came in and did the voiceover. We got to chatting and she had mentioned that she just finished theater school and was looking for acting work, blah blah blah. She looks really young and the part of Swan required someone who looked really young. We had thought about casting actual eighteen or nineteen year olds, but Anna is a little bit older than that and she looks young but she had those extra years of acting experience under her belt. We had her tryout a couple of times and we really liked what she was doing.
Q: I thought her part was such a revelation because I don’t think too many people were familiar with her before the film but she was really great.
Yeah, we’re hoping this can get her out there in the spotlight more and get her some more good roles.
Q: How did you get Joanna Angel to appear in the film?
Ed, the producer and co-writer, I believe, went to college with Joanna. He’s known her for a long time. They’re both from the East Coast and he’s known her forever. As their careers progressed, they both found their successes in life. Joanna, of course, is in the world of pornography and Ed in the world of film writing and producing. Ed had cast her in a web series that he tried to get off the ground a couple of years ago. A lot of people are surprised to discover that she’s a really great actress because you think that because she’s a porn actress she doesn’t know how to act blah blah blah but she’s really good and I wouldn’t be surprised if she gets more roles doing stuff with her clothes on.
