Japanese S&M Thriller FLOWER AND SNAKE ZERO: NSFW Trailer

Check Out The NSFW Trailer For Japanese S-and-M-Themed Thriller FLOWER AND SNAKE ZERO

You know what the top executives of Nikkatsu, Japan's oldest major film studio, decided to do when they knew their precious entertainment company was on the verge of a financial disaster? Nothing spectacular. They simply believed in the power of the so-called "Roman Porno" (romantic pornography, to be precise) and pink films, and started producing features that dealt with such topics as sex, violence, romance, or S-and-M on a mass scale. Konuma Masaru's Flower and Snake (1974) is often cited as the picture that sparked such a surprising trend in Japanese cinema and saved Nikkatsu, which eventually filed for bankruptcy in 1993, only to be revived in 2010.

Flower and Snake, which holds a special place in Japan's film history, gained a cult following over the years. Much less popular are the 2004 remake of the same name, the 2005 sequel, and the third part released in 2010. The original picture is based on Dan Oniroku's controversial novel Hana to Hebi.

Hashimoto Hajime's Flower and Snake Zero revolves around the theme of sadomasochism as well, but this time wraps it around a scenario that involves a black-market website and its connection to an underground torture ring. Not surprisingly, the trailer pretty much lays bare the atmosphere of the picture and reveals its sick and twisted intentions.

This is how Eigapedia describes the plot:

Misaki Amemiya is an assistant inspector for the Metropolitan Police Department's Community Safety Bureau who becomes ensnared in a trap while investigating a mysterious illegal video website called "Babylon". Soon, she's bound and tortured along with Shizuko and an oversexed housewife named Ruri.

Flower and Snake Zero opens in cinemas across Japan on May 17, 2014. Watch the NSFW Japanese-language trailer below!
