Susie Abromeit: Animal Planet's Scripted Horror 'Killer Lampreys' Preview

Killer Lampreys to Suck Shannen Doherty and Christopher Lloyd to Death this Memorial Day

Killer Lampreys to Suck Shannen Doherty and Christopher Lloyd to Death this Memorial DayIt probably wouldn't surprise you to hear The Asylum has a new nature gone amok flick titled Blood Lake: Attack of the Killer Lampreys starring Shannen Doherty and Christopher Lloyd premiering on TV this Memorial Day weekend.

What might surprise you is where you can see it. Not Syfy! These lampreys are prowling Animal Planet.

If Wil Wheaton and so many others got annoyed about the Discovery Channel airing a fake Megalodon documentary during Shark Week last year you have to wonder if they'll react negatively to Animal Planet suddenly getting in on the schlocky b-movie game with the producers of Sharknado. Maybe not, considering this tale of lethal lampreys on the attack is debuting as part of Animal Planet's third annual "Monster Week" (which really is a monster week given it lasts 9 days). According to the New York Post, this is the same offbeat week Animal Planet will be unveiling a new documentary about large cats thirsting for human blood entitled "Man-Eating Zombie Cats", which itself sounds like the title of a future Asylum flick.

Shannen Doherty ("Charmed"), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), and Jason Brooks ("Days of our Lives") find themselves fighting for their lives against rampaging eel-like fish with huge teeth and funnel-shaped mouths they use to latch onto prey and drain their blood. Brooks plays a fish & wildlife expert whom moves to a small Michigan town with wife Shannen Doherty after being summoned by Mayor Christopher Lloyd to help deal with an infestation of lethal lampreys that have made their way into the city sewer system. No sink, shower, bath tub, swimming pool, or toilet is safe from these slithery blood-suckers.

Blood Lake: Attack of the Lethal Lampreys premieres on Animal Planet on Sunday, May 25th at 9/8 Central.

Look for a cameo appearance by "River Monsters" host Jeremy Wade. He'll be the one laughing about how suddenly his series no longer seems all that sensationalistic.

Susie Abromeit in Rake [S1E10]

Sweet Susie in another thankless guest spot. This time barely an extra. A hooker 'unveiling' herself to Mr. Rake in Episode 10. Greg Kinnear always tries way too hard to be likeable, extracting all the charm he can muster from every pore on his skin. The thing is he doesn't need to. Just let it flow naturally and scale down on the Jack Nicholson-esque cheshire cat imitation. Doesn't matter, though. Rake belongs on pay cable. Everything is toned down with zero nudity on FX. Not surprisingly, the show has been cancelled. Perhaps the creators can pitch it to STARZ or DirectTV.
As for Susie, how long she can maintain the streak of doing pointless cameos that doesn't add anything to her acting other than plumping her film resume?
On set with the amazing and talented Greg Kinnear and our fabulous director Rosemary.
On the set of RAKE. Wearing a tench coat folks...aren't we curious of what's to come next! Bahahaha
