Elizabeth Gillies Joins FX’s ‘Sex and Drugs and Rock-and-Roll’
Robert Kelly (Ghost Town) and Elizabeth Gillies (Victorious) have been cast in FX’s music comedy pilot SexandDrugsandRockandRoll. Written by Dennis Leary, the project centers on Johnny Rock (Leary), the magnificently talented lead singer of New York’s legendary early-’90s band The Heathens. Kelly, repped by Gersh, Apostle and law firm CohenGardner, will play Bam Bam, the Keith Moon-inspired drummer of The Heathens. He still hangs around Johnny, but the years have not been kind and he suffers no illusions about a resurgence of his musical career.
Paradigm-repped Gillies will play Gigi, a 22-year-old singer in search of a songwriter and veteran session musicians to record her first album.
The comedy centers on Johnny Rock (Leary), a middle-aged rock 'n' roller who desperately wanted to be rich and famous. So far, he's 0-for-2. As the magnificently talented lead singer of New York's legendary early 1990s band The Heathens, Johnny was on his way to the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. His best friend Flash was being called the next No. 1 lead guitar player on planet Earth.
The critics loved them. Their live shows were selling out. But Johnny had a problem with booze. And coke. And weed. And pills. And cough medicine. And he slept with Flash's wife as well as his bass player's fiancee. The band broke up the same day their first and only record was released.
Twenty-five years later, Johnny is now trying to get the band back together again because his soon-to-be-ex-manager Ira tells him he's a broke, anonymous bartender.

Bum nudity, anyone? Pale Lizzy would be up for it. I'm going for 90-95% (side boobs and butt), staking my non-existence reputation on it. Strange coincidence. Both Gillies and Keke Palmer who joined Masters of Sex in a recurring role co-starred in upcoming Animal. Wonder who's been whispering in the girls ears to take more risks with their career?
