Clarksville businessman charged with sexually exploiting teen
CLARKSVILLE, TENN. — A Clarksville man was indicted by the Montgomery County grand jury and accused of possessing child pornography.
Gregory Greig, 67, was indicted in the October 2013 term of the Montgomery County grand jury and charged with 12 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
According to the indictment, between July 19, 2013, and Aug. 7, 2013, Grieg allegedly possessed materials of a minor, who was 17-years-old at the time, engaged in sexual activity.
Greig, who owns Greig and Greig Enterprises – a local home improvement company – was also charged in a Nashville case with two counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, sexual battery by an authority figure and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to Clarksville Police, the charges in Nashville and Clarksville stem from the same incident.
In August, The Leaf-Chronicle reported, the girl told investigators on Aug. 1 that Greig hired her to do hair and makeup for a model at a photo shoot in Antioch and drove her there on July 19. Along the way, he told the girl that the model would be nude. Warrants indicated that Greig had not told the girl or her family prior to then that the model would be nude.
En route to the model’s residence, Greig allegedly stopped at a store and bought alcohol, which he allowed the girl to drink during the drive. She told investigators that she was allowed to drink an alcoholic beverage during the photo shoot, and Greig told her she could remove her clothes and he took pictures of her, according to the previous report.
On Aug. 7, investigators executed a search warrant at Greig’s residence and questioned him about the incident. The warrants said Greig admitted he knew the girl was younger than 18, and when they were in the model’s residence, he told her “it might not be legal for her to be at the nude model shoot because she is a minor.”
Greig also admitted to taking nude images of the girl with the model, and he had the model take pictures of him with the girl, according to the previous report.
Greig’s laptop computer was confiscated, and on Aug. 9, the investigator said nine nude photos of the girl were found in a file on the computer. Also, two nude images were found of her with Greig, who was also nude, and his hand was on the girl’s breast, the report said
The investigator said the model was unaware that the girl was a minor.
Montgomery County authorities were looking into some of Greig’s business practices, which are unrelated to the felony charges. The Better Business Bureau has also investigated Greig and Greig Enterprises and noted they failed to maintain required licensing.
